Si Butler Trio

Si Butler Trio

Originally from London, since moving to San Francisco in the mid 90s Si has played and recorded with many of the Bay Areas best jazz musicians including Smith Dobson (snr), Jeff Chambers, Jim Zimmerman, Gary Brown, John Stowell and top Brazilian musicians such as Marcos Silva, Weber Iago and Celso Alberti. Si has also performed internationally in Europe and Asia, including a 3 month residency at the world renowned Oriental Hotel in Bangkok.

The Si Butler trio blends contemporary Jazz, Brazilian and classical influences as an evolution of the classic Jazz guitar tradition. Si is joined by John Wiitala on acoustic bass and Brian Fishler on drums in an innovative trio setting.

Swing Shift featuring Olivier Zyngier

Swing Shift

Swing Shift plays American swing — songs from the 1920s through the present day. Led by Richard Southwick on vocals and guitar, the trio features Nathan Ladyzhensky on violin and melodica, and Olivier Zyngier on double bass. While the focus is on songs from the Great American Songbook, the band also likes to mix in latin rhythms, western swing, and modern pop tunes reimagined in a swing style.

Lara Louise

Born and raised in the Netherlands, Lara taught herself how to play the guitar, inspired by artists such as Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell. Later, she became influenced by jazz and bossa nova singers like Madeleine Peyroux, Frank Sinatra and Astrud Gilberto, and was particularly drawn to French jazz. All these different influences make for a tasteful variety of classic songs, tied together with her unique style and voice. Her interpretations are simple and pure, with a focus on the feeling and the melody.

Parlor Tricks

Parlor Tricks is San Francisco and the world’s first and foremost industrial ragtime band. The music is a mix of vaudeville, blues, swing, and original numbers all distinguished by heavy doses of syncopation and stomp.
